Melanie E. Damian
Founder & Partner

Melanie Damian, founder and partner at Damian & Valori, LLP | Culmo Trial attorneys, represents public and private companies and individuals in a variety of complex business and securities litigation. She regularly serves as court-appointed Federal Equity Receiver, Special Monitor, and distribution Agent, and also serves as Receiver and Monitor in state court matters. Ms. Damian also serves as counsel to Receivers serving in both state and federal court.  She counsels companies on corporate governance matters and serves as counsel to special litigation committees performing internal investigations in response to shareholder derivative demands. She also represents officers and directors in corporate and securities litigation matters, and various partners or members in closely held “business divorce” matters. Ms. Damian is active in child advocate and is a founder of the non-profit Educate Tomorrow. She also currently serves as Chair of the Board of the SEED School of Miami, a public urban boarding school for underserved youth.

Peter F. Valori, co-founder of Damian & Valori, LLP and managing partner of Damian & Valori, LLP | Culmo Trial Attorneys, heads the firm’s complex business litigation practice. He focuses his practice on complex corporate, contract, real estate, employment, professional negligence, and trademark litigation.  He has significant experience with breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and professional liability cases. Tom Culmo
Founder & Partner

Tom Culmo, founder of Culmo Trial Attorneys, and partner Damian & Valori, LLP | Culmo Trial Attorneys, heads the firm’s personal injury practice. His practice is focused on hospital malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, product defects, wrongful death, and commercial litigation matters. He is board certified as a specialist in civil trial practice by The Florida Bar (flabar.org/certification) and the National Board of Trial Advocacy (www.nblsc.us). He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (www.abota.org).

Mr. Culmo has been lead counsel in over 100 jury trials, obtained jury verdicts in 25 different counties in Florida, and has successfully represented clients in claims against a large number of hospitals and hospital corporations.

Mr. Culmo is an avid cyclist and has cycled alongside some of the world’s renowned cyclists, along the most challenging tracks across the United States and Europe. He has participated in more than a dozen of grand fondos. A lifelong endurance athlete, he rode crew in both high school and college and was a member of the heavy weight crew team at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he began to cycle and participated in triathlons including half and full iron men. Mr. Culmo is a part of the Melody Farms Cycling Team in Miami.

Russell Landy, a partner at Damian & Valori, LLP | Culmo Trial attorneys, focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, business torts, contract litigation, class actions, employment litigation and counseling, real property litigation and appeals. Mr. Landy regularly represents businesses and individuals in litigation relating to complicated business disputes, injunction matters, shareholder disputes and derivative suits, and employment litigation. Christine Dimitriou
Attorney

Christine Marie Dimitriou, attorney at Damian & Valori, LLP | Culmo Trial Attorneys, practices in the areas of federal and state court receiverships, complex business litigation, admiralty and maritime law, and cybersecurity and data privacy compliance.  She is licensed to practice in Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to joining Damian & Valori, Ms. Dimitriou was a senior associate with a national firm, practicing in the area of class action and consumer fraud litigation, as well as counseling companies concerning best practices for cybersecurity and data privacy. Ms. Dimitriou’s representations include Fortune 500 companies, including the major cruise lines, in state and federal court as well as in international arbitration.

Ms. Dimitriou can speak on best practices to help business stay up to date with data privacy and cybersecurity. I can also speak on recent events/laws and their effect on the maritime industry.
