Miami attorney Peter F. Valori, Managing Partner of the law firm of Damian & Valori LLP, will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Ponzi Schemes and Crime Victim Restitution – Should the Bankruptcy Court or the US Attorney’s Office Distribute Compensation?” at the American Bar Association Sections of Litigation and Criminal Justice Joint Annual Conference on April 15, 2011.

The Madoff, Stanford and Rothstein Ponzi schemes have shocked the legal system with their enormity. And, the Rothstein case in particular has highlighted the use of multiple legal actions and remedies including civil (especially bankruptcy proceedings) and criminal. This CLE program addresses the interplay between those remedies with a focus on the balance between the rights of victims of a crime and those of a creditor in a bankruptcy proceeding.

The panel discussion will take place at The Fontainebleau Resort on Miami Beach from 11:15 a.m. – 12:45 a.m. on April 15, 2011.
